FEMA:

The National Response Framework provides context for how the whole community works together and how response efforts relate to other parts of national preparedness.

The National Response Framework is actually a "subset" under the National Planning Frameworks. Others under this set include:

National Prevention Framework

National Mitigation Framework

National Disaster Recovery Framework

A National Prevention Framework subset is currently under development.

This can also be looked at from a "school response framework", as well. Fact is, in order to be NIMS compliant, schools must implement an identified, practical, robust school response framework. Problem is, how do they go about doing that.

Here in Colorado, guidelines have been provided in a myriad of ways. Our friends at School Safety Partners have taken the time to provide guidance on the very issue of what must be included to have a School Response Framework based on NIMS.
